Welcome our new Managing Director, Louis Block!

Louis Block is a painter and writer based in Brooklyn with a decade of experience in arts publishing and administration, serving as a Managing Director at the Brooklyn Rail since 2022 and now at KUNSTRAUM.

Louis’s work has been shown in New York, Jersey City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Annapolis, Chicago, and Venice. He is the recipient of a 2025 fellowship at the Edward F. Albee Foundation in Montauk and a 2026–27 Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program Residency.

His writing and interviews with artists have been published in the Brooklyn Rail, Border Crossings, Hyperallergic, and Full Bleed Journal.
