TIM GRIESHABER
My interdisciplinary practice encompasses large-scale painting, photography, and film. While the paintings are fragmentary and neo expressive, the camera work consists of immediate recordings of my life – unfiltered, leaving no room for imagination. At the core of my work lie themes of evolution and transformation, with subcultures playing a vital role. Each encounter with my pieces is meant to provoke thought or evoke emotion. The collage-like paintings achieve this through their sheer visual presence,
while the photographic and filmic works confront the viewer with unembellished reality.

My artistic process is guided by instinct and intuition. It follows the philosophy of imitation: human beings are profoundly imitative, and thus I replicate what I see. In this way, my works evolve organically – ultimately, the process itself determines the final result. The viewer is meant to be drawn into my works: they can see, sense, and even feel them. Through this, I aim to pull the audience into
my perspective and confront them with contemporary issues. My works stand as reflections of a new, ever-accelerating society – raw, relentless, and undeniably real.
