SUE BEYER

Sue Beyer is a NYC-based interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores auto-theory, post humanism and instruction-based art. Working across painting, electronics, video, and new media, she creates objects and installations that explore the intersection of human experience and technology through an intermedial lens. Recent works utilize AI hallucinations to create auto-fictions that examine speculative identities.

Sue earned her MFA from the University of Melbourne in 2019, has exhibited internationally, and received support through cultural agencies such as Foundation for Contemporary Arts in the U.S., Creative Australia, Creative Victoria, University of Melbourne, and the Sidney Myer Fund & The Myer Foundation.

She won the Emerging Artist category in the Stanthorpe Art Prize (2014) and received the National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association Award (2018) for work created as part of her MFA. Her work is part of numerous corporate and public collections including the permanent collection of The Rothko Museum in Latvia, and Artbank, an Australian Government collection.
