KETTY ZHANG

Ketty Haolin Zhang (b. Chaoyang, Liaoning) is a visual artist. Her practice is rooted in her diasporic experience as a 1.5-generation immigrant, having spent half of her life so far in China and half in Canada. She is interested in creating works that embody both intimacy and emotional tension. At the moment, she makes paintings of nighttime scenes that navigate placelessness, liminality, and (non)belonging, as well as found object sculptures that explore personal history, desire, and devotion.

Zhang holds a BA in Visual Art from the University of British Columbia, and work has been exhibited and collected in Canada, the US, Mexico, China, and the EU.
