AMELIA PINNEY

Amelia is a Brooklyn based artist with a background in teaching, art, and dance, and possesses a deep love for immersing herself in the creative process. A graduate of Skidmore College, with additional studies at RISD and NYSS, she illustrated two children’s books for Downtown Bookworks/Simon & Schuster while working as a kindergarten teacher.

She also launched Amelia Carves, creating custom-painted skateboards and other pieces to support her creative practice. Now taking time away from teaching to focus fully on her art, Amelia works across many mediums including painting, pottery, embroidery, cardboard art, and more, blending playful experimentation with a curiosity and imagination inspired by her students. Her work radiates playful, experimental, and imaginative energy, blurring the lines between art and functional design.
