VICTORIA-ANNE ROSALES
Victoria-anne Chianti Rosales is best known for her tightly rendered micron pen drawings, which she combines with textiles, soft sculptures, found objects, and collage that feature the disruption and absurdity of her everyday experiences. She seeks to challenge traditional feminine roles and narratives while often incorporating the characterization of items and feelings in her work. Rosales hopes that this element of distortion of the viewer’s familiarity with certain things, spaces, and emotions serves to aid others in questioning and transcending their own narratives and boundaries.

Rosales was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where she received her BFA with a concentration in Drawing and a minor in Theatre. Since then, she has participated in several residencies and volunteered at numerous artistic institutes. She currently works and resides in her hometown of El Paso, Texas.
