LILIAN ROGGE
Lilian Rogge is a German-Filipino artist and designer based in Cologne. Working in drawing and painting with water-soluble wax pastels and gouache, and soft sculpture, she explores the inner psychological and emotional terrain by creating abstract spaces.
Her work grows out of the gap she feels between the complexity of one’s inner experience and what is expressed to the outside world, as well as the way certain parts are intentionally or unintentionally withheld. Lilian borrows visual qualities from landscapes and the inner body, blurring the boundaries between the outside world and the inner.
Her practice continues to evolve through her participation in the artist residency at KUNSTRAUM and the artist mentorship program at The Canopy Program, where she is currently developing her work alongside a community of fellow artists.
