MICHAEL N. MEYER
Michael N. Meyer engages the distortion inherent in the design and use of observational technologies. As digital imaging hardware, software and platforms become ever more entwined in our lives, he considers it a political question as to whether this network of technological vision expands our sense of and relationships with the world or diminishes them. He stretches, tweaks and bends the fundamental functioning of his photographic tools to consider how the design and use of devices and processes affects the social structures in which they operate. His work was shown most recently at the Datz Museum in Gwangju, South Korea and the /’Fu:bar/ Glitch Art Festival in Zagreb, Croatia. The Los Angeles Center for Digital Art included him in its annual Ten Artists to Watch exhibit in 2019. Michael is also a co-founder of Spectacle Box, a curatorial collective facilitating artist book distribution.
