In recent years, Marco Crocchianti, proficient in figurative oil painting on linen, has been drawn to re-creating large-scale personal spaces in ink on paper. Through his work, he reveals to the viewer much about who he is by capturing the spaces in which he lives and works. In these personal ‘landscapes,’ the aspect of perspective is self-revealing through a process of copying smaller segments of each scene from dozens of photographs. Creating a distorted sense of place and space, the finished works reveal themselves simultaneously both to the viewer and to the artist himself.
Crocchianti has apprenticed with a leading international gallery in San Gimignano, Florence and international artists in Europe. Beginning at age 14, studied painting at acclaimed institutions in Siena and Florence.
